About Us:

The Vasculitis Clinic at UCSF Medical Center treats patients with all forms of systemic vasculitis, including giant cell and Takayasu's arteritis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis (formerly called Wegener's granulomatosis), microscopic polyangiitis, Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss), and polyarteritis nodosa. Rheumatologists in the clinic work closely with dermatologists, kidney specialists, neuromuscular specialists, ophthalmologists and pulmonologists at UCSF Medical Center and in the community to diagnose patients and manage these intensively complex diseases. Dr. Sharon Chung directs the UCSF Vasculitis Clinic.

The Vasculitis Clinic also participates in research on new diagnostic techniques and treatments and to identify genes and genetic factors associated with the development and progression of vasculitis and other autoimmune diseases. These studies are sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, American College of Rheumatology, the European League Against Rheumatism, and other private foundations.
