About Us
Dr. Bruce Trapnell, is the Director of the Rare Lung Diseases Consortium and Chair of the Steering Committee for the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network. He obtained a B.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland, a M.S. degree in genetics from the George Washington University and an M.D. from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Ohio State University and a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the Clinical Center of the National Institutes of Health. He is currently Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, a faculty member of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Research Foundation, and the Scientific Director of the Alpha-1 Foundation. His basic research interests include the molecular biology of inflammatory lung diseases, gene therapy, and the role of GM-CSF in the lung in health and disease.
