About Us:Welcome to the University of Kansas Medical Center, also known as KUMC, Department Of Neurology, Neuromuscular Division, home of the Jayhawks. With the January 2001 arrival of Richard J. Barohn, MD as chairman of the department, the neuromuscular division has grown to include 3 physicians specializing in neuromuscular disorders, a clinical evaluator, 2 research coordinators, and 2 EMG technicians. He also brings with him over 20 years of experience in the field of neuromuscular research involving various diseases of the nerves and muscles. The other neuromuscular specialists that have joined our department are April L. McVey, MD and David S. Saperstein, MD. They also bring research experience to the department.
